J'S Racing MAXFLOW air filter brings out all the potential engine power of your vehicle.
While our pure performance intake systems like "Tsuchinoko Air Intake System" are very well known, we had frequent requests for a stock replacement air filter from our customers.
So, we created a stock shape filter which is very easy to replace and at the same is sure to increase the engine power.
An air filter can increase the engine power by taking in more air and effectively packing more air into the cylinders. One popular method is to reduce the air flow resistance of the air filter.
This is a simple but very effective method for more power and works for every type of vehicles.
It is an epoch-making product which achieved the coexistence of dust collection function and air inflow function at a very high efficiency level.
It is the concept which many leading companies tried but never succeeded.
That is our "J'S Racing MAXFLOW Air filter".
It is true that the ultimate efficiency for the power can be achieved by just removing the air filter.

However, air contains dirt, dust, tiny insects, and particulate matter in the diesel exhaust.
Especially damaging to the longevity of the engine is small and solid material - particulate matter - in the diesel exhaust (it is called carbon dust).
You could make a case for eliminating air filter for instant power for a spring race, but it is essential to take care of the engine on the street driving based on a long term view.
A stock or aftermarket air cleaner can remove the harmful particles at a cost of reduced volume of air. It is desirable to have as much volume of air as possible, but the more you emphasize on collecting the dust in the filter, the more intensified the air resistance becomes.
Every manufacturer develops the filter by balancing these conflicting factors.
Several aftermarket air cleaners marketed for a higher horse power achieve the objective by reducing the effectiveness of dust collection, which significantly shortens the engine life.
* Driving without air cleaner damages the engine extensively. Please avoid.
A naked sponge filter is the popular choice in the market due to its attractive looks and the performance sound.
However, it seldom meets the standard of true filter (or cleaner).

Based on the benchmark testing conducted by us, the air cleaning efficiency is mere 68 % for the rather good ones and the bad ones could not reach even 50 %.
The test shows that these naked sponge type filters pass 30 % to 50 % of the dust into the engine cylinder.
We also found that SUS mesh filter scored pretty much same as the sponge type.
The dust holding test measures the resistance level (mmAq) in relation to the time and dust holding rate (cleaning efficiency) by putting the dust (JIS8 powder material) into the 4.0m3 air and passing the air through the filters.
The resistance number at the starting point (0 min) is same as the number of 4.0m3.
The sponge type filter from manufacturer F showed very high initial resistance level and it gets clogged quickly.
The efficiency level was also low and the product scored the worst among the seven tested.
A dry paper type from manufacturer M scored a low resistance initially, but the resistance level rapidly increased as the filter got clogged.
This product is usually sold as a wet paper type with viscous oil on it.
A dry type merely means no oil is applied on the filter.
The filter from manufacturer A - initial resistance stayed in a low side with narrow margin. The resistance gradually increased and surpassed that of manufacturer G.
Overall, the resistance is high but very stable.The product longevity was good and it scored a good cleaning efficiency.
A sponge type from manufacturer M had a rough texture with a low resistance and it held the dust to a certain extent. However, the final result is 61.9 %.
A sponge type from manufacturer H also had a low initial resistance. The resistance level was very stable against the increased dust. The cleaning efficiency was 47.31 %.
MAXFLOW - a very low resistance level from the start
Filter from manufacturer G had a high resistance level.
However, it scored an excellent balance on cleaning efficiency and product life.
An air filter which realizes those two conflicting objectives at a high level is truly worthy of "Real Performance Air Filter"
The new fabric-like material which makes it possible is called "Nonwoven fabric".
The J'S Racing MAXFLOW air filter is made of new nonwoven fabric and it has an amazing dust holding rate (clearing efficiency) of over 90 %.
The air resistance of this newly designed nonwoven fabric is less than 50 % of the conventional nonwoven fabric.
Compared with the popular naked sponge type filter, this number indicates 40 % better resistance.
(the comparison was made with 15208-V0100 type)
The MAXFLOW maintains the advantage of the stock replacement type filter and at the same time it improves both the airflow volume and air cleaning efficiency.
The airflow resistance test measures the resistance (mmAq) of the airflow per minute on a new product.
The five stages of air volume (from 2.4m to 4.0m3) were used in the test.
(2.4m3 is equivalent to the air volume of 2000cc non turbo engine at 3,200 rpm and 4.0m3 is equivalent to that of 5,300 rpm)
The naked sponge type of manufacturer F had a very high resistance level.
In order to make the graph easy to see, some part of the graph of that product (above 3.2m3) was truncated.
Except for the manufacturer F, all the filters scored a lower resistance number than the filter of manufacturer G.
Only MAXFLOW and the dry paper type of manufacturer M registered a lower resistance number than the conventional sponge type filter.
